10/14/2012–Burlington, NC–Pig Pickin’ Feeds over 150 Members and Guests
The parking lot at NC Wing HQs. began filling up shortly after 11:00 a.m. by members and guests on as perfect a day as one could hope for. Clear blue skies, low humidity and temperatures in the upper 60s all combined to help those attending to forget the 100-degree days now behind us.
The invitation sent to all stressed the family direction for the event, and the wing commander, Col. David E. Crawford, stressed that there would be no uniforms and no mention of work. Most members attending made a serious effort to comply with the order.
A message from Our Commander:
Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday and made the Pig Pickin' a big success. We had a great turnout, perfect weather and delicious NC BBQ. I really enjoyed it and hope everyone attending had a good time. A special thanks to Eric Grant, Kathy Gaddy, Lucy Davis, Andy Wiggs and NC-022 for all their efforts to get things set up, coordinate with the caterer and make sure everything went smoothly. Also thanks to Jason Bailey for coordinating transportation for the cadets from the Airman School.
DAVID E CRAWFORD, Colonel, CAP
Commander, North Carolina Wing
