- 12/31/2014—Orange County County Composite Squadron Visits NC Army National Guard Base
- The Orange County Composite Squadron visited the 130th Aviation Regiment (Attack Recon Battalion) of the NC Army National Guard on December 29, 2014. The cadets and senior members learned about the regiment’s 19 Apache and 4 Lakota helicopters and the servicemen and women who fly and maintain them.

- CAP cadets from the Orange County Composite Squadron and cadets from the Iredell Composite Squadron team up at the Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Dec. 13, 2014.
- 12/12/2014—North Carolina WWII veterans receive their Bronze Replicas of the Congressional Gold Medal
- CAP WWII Veteran Lester Wolff, "We were a rag tag group of rejects from military service and some too old and a few who had even served in WWI. We were volunteers in the true sense of the American tradition of wanting to serve our country in time of need. We were equipped with little more than our derring-do and willingness to do the job”.
- 12/10/2014—Congressional Gold Medal honors Civil Air Patrol’s World War II service
- Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner opened the ceremony by highlighting the great tradition of the Congressional Gold Medal which dates back to before the nation was born. “It represents the highest expression of the people’s appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions. The first recipient was General George Washington in 1776”, said Speaker Boehner.
- 12/09/2014—Civil Air Patrol helps honor America’s military veterans through Wreaths Across America
- On Dec. 13, 2014 ceremonies across the nation will coincide with a Wreaths Across America ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in which organizers hope to cover approximately 227,000 grave sites in honor of the historic cemetery’s 150th anniversary.
- 12/04/2014—Cadet Ham Receives Billy Mitchell Award
- C/2nd Lt Hazen David Ham of the Orange County Composite Squadron received the prestigious Billy Mitchell Award on December 4, 2014. The Award was presented by Capt Pete Wehr, Commander of the Squadron, James Groves, Director of Orange County Emergency Services, and Col Joe Javorski, U.S. Air Force.
